Architecture is about making spaces work for the people who inhabit them.

That’s exactly what The Foundation Architects has done for nearly 15 years. In September, they’re giving the public a chance to tour one of homes they designed. The Foundation is participating in Homes by Architects by American Institute of Architects (AIA) Minnesota, where architect-designed homes around the metro area will be on tour.

The Foundation Architect home on the tour is a redesign of a typical 1950s-era rambler in Golden Valley. The house now has a strong street presence through the use of oversized timbers as columns and beams. The interior has an open floor plan that maximizes exterior views. See it for yourself by participating in the tour on September 20 and 21.
